Walker Evans Prints, Martson Hill EditionsIn 2000, Sven Martson and John T. Hill began printing Evans’ key images, using the extended tonal range offered via digital technology. Both men had been Evan’s friends: Martson had printed for Evans-under his direction in the artist’s darkroom. Hill had been a colleague, teaching with Evans in the Yale School of Art, and later serving as executor of Evans’ estate. These limited edition prints are made on Hahnemühle Photorag, 308gsm paper, using warm neutral carbon pigments. Given the care appropriate for all works on paper, they are expected to equal or exceed the stability of gelatin silver prints. Pics of prints to follow... |
